ANIME REVIEW OF ATTACK ON TITAN

 Attack on Titan

The anime that I'm going to review today is an anime who's on the path of creating history. This anime has dethroned the anime which was on top for the last five years on My anime list. "The Attack Titan" is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by  Hajime Isayama. It is set in a world where humanity lives inside cities surrounded by enormous walls that protect them from gigantic man-eating humanoids referred to as Titans.

Category: Action, Dark, Fantasy, Military, Politics, Apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction.

Status: Season 4(the final season) airing.

EREN YEAGER

The story revolves around a 10-year-old boy EREN YEAGER who lives with his Father(Grisha Yeager), Mother(Carla Yeager) and an Adopted Sister(Mikasa Ackerman) in Shiganshina District. One day an enormous Titan breaches the wall and thus the rampage begins with the entry of hundreds of man-eating titan. They destroyed the whole District and in the process, Eren's mother was eaten by a titan in front of his eyes and he was not able to do anything. On that day he vows to eliminate all the titans from the earth. He then joins the survey cops(soldiers who conclude the operation outside the walls killing titans) with Mikasa and his old friend from Shiganshina District Armin.

This is a top-class anime with a well-written story, top-notch animation, character development is really good and the opening song is very impactful thought contains some minor spoiler.  You may feel the pacing of the anime in the first few episodes is fast but after 4 episodes the real story starts when Eren and the supporting characters are sent on a mission to retake Shiganshina District. This anime is recommended to only those who like pure action because this anime contains heavy use of violence and bloodshed. The action sequence is really good. Other characters are equally or rather, more famous than the main character like Captain Levi Ackerman, Captain Erwin Smith, Mikasa, Armin as well.

Animated Movie: YOUR NAME(REVIEW)

 

Today I'm going to review an anime movie instead of a series. This movie is close to me, I have seen this movie several times and each time I watch, it creates the same impact. "YOUR NAME(KIMI NO NA WA)" is a 2016 Japanese animated romantic fantasy film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai, and produced by CoMix Wave Films. This movie has made several new records worldwide.

 The two main characters of the story are Taki Tachibana & Mitsuha Miyamizu.

Taki Tachiban

Taki a  high school boy in Tokyo. He is a 17-year-old sophomore attending Tokyo Metropolitan High School in the class next to Class C of the second year and is three years younger than Mitsuha when they start switching bodies. He is a talented sketch artist and has aspirations to be an architect. He is short-tempered but well-meaning and kind. He spends time with Miki Okudera, working in a part-time job as a waiter at the Italian restaurant.

Mitsuha Miyamizu

Mitsuha high school girl dissatisfied with her life in Itomori, a mountainous and rural town of Gifu Prefecture. She is a 17-year-old student in her second year at Itomori High School, who is three years older than Taki when they started switching bodies. Mitsuha has usually seen with her hair tied up with a dark red braided ribbon that she made by hand herself. She and her sister are maidens of the family shrine. After her mother died, her father abandoned the shrine to pursue politics. She lives with her maternal grandmother, Hitoha, and her younger sister, Yotsuha, who is in elementary school. 

Taki and Mitsuha start to switch body with each other, the two initially believe these experiences to be vivid dreams, but eventually realize they can communicate with each other by leaving messages on paper, phones and sometimes on each other's skin.  One day, Taki (in Mitsuha's body) accompanies Mitsuha's grandmother Hitoha and her sister Yotsuha to leave the ritual alcohol kuchikamizake, made by the sisters, as an offering at the Shinto shrine located on a mountaintop outside the town. It is believed to represent the body of the village guardian god ruling over human connections and time. Taki reads a note from Mitsuha about the comet Tiamat, expected to pass nearest to Earth on the day of the autumn festival. Taki attempts to call Mitsuha on the phone, but cannot reach her and finds the body-switching has ended. Now the movie takes a dramatical twist which can not be disclosed, to know about it you have to watch it.

 

This movie is enjoyable but with the complex plot, in my opinion, every single scene carries its importance. Location shown in this movie are all breathtaking, they all became popular after the release of this Movie.

While watching this movie please make sure not to skip scenes because all of them will connect at the end of the story during The Golden Hour. Its background music is truly amazing.

This is recommended for everyone because it has drama, a slight touch comedy, fantasy and romance.

Misfit of Demon King Academy

Today's anime is one of the most popular anime of 2020, it shatters all the tradition that is used for creating a typical anime protagonist.

So let's start with our protagonist who is a Demon King, his name is Anos Voldigoad. He is the most powerful Demon King in history, which can even alter the past, defeat a God, etc... He is smart, powerful, handsome, calm and is very prideful; who is tired of countless deaths on both sides wanted to end the century-long wars between different clans(Demons, Humans, Spirit). To achieve a peaceful world he sacrifices himself to create a powerful barrier which prevents different clans to cross their world.

As for the antagonist of the show, it is disclosed by the end of the series. 

The show starts 2000 years after the sacrifice of our Demon King who had high hopes for his successor but in truth, he sees that they have become very weak. Now demon clan is divided into two sections one is Pure Demon and other Hybrid Demon. 

Higher Demons have started an academy which acts as a stepping stone for those who aspire to be Demon King. To take back his title of Demon King he enters the Academy. Overall character development is amazing, character design is also very good. The comic element is limited. Action scenes are very enjoyable, it's amazing to see how our Anos crushes the enemy brutally by showing the difference between their strength. The show is not dragged anywhere, you will surely enjoy the pacing of the show. The show is light in the start but gets intense at the end.

This show is highly recommended for those who don't want to watch long shows but still want enough drama, action, romance, etc...

Death Note Anime Review

     In Japanese, anime, a term derived from the English word animation, describes all animated works, regardless of style or origin. Outside of Japan, anime refers specifically to animation produced in Japan, or to its common style, which has since been adopted by a minority of works produced in other countries.

    Let's start with one of the most popular anime inside and outside Japan that is "Death Note".

    This story revolves around a 17-year-old boy Light Yagami (A villain protagonist)* who lives in Japan and is bored from his life. One day he found a book named "Death Note", according to which the person who's name is written in the book will die in the next 40 seconds.

    Due to certain circumstances, he uses the  Death Note. And soon he realises that this Death Note could be used to create an ideal world by eliminating all evil by writing their name in Death Note. Later on in the story, he will be given the name "Kira"(derived from the English word Killer, who give justice to all evil).

    Then enters the second main character of the story " L". Who is known as the world's best detective. He tries to catch Light Yagami as he thinks what Kira is doing is not justice but a pure crime.

    The show raises a lot of moral questions about justice, capital punishment and vigilantism in a very plausible manner. Instead of giving us a clearly defined hero, the anime gives us a rather complex protagonist we might even have trouble rooting for at times. It's a first-rate thriller, and a powerful character study at the same time. Throughout the 37 episodes, the show gives you to edge of the seat suspense and intriguing twists, as a result of which it becomes very addictive and hard to stop watching. Although some of you may feel after the first half the story is being dragged, trust me the endings well-planned and presented. Action scenes, although present only in a few episodes, are done well and the dialogue is intelligent. And yes, the soundtrack elevates this show to a whole new level of excitement. I couldn't help but listen to the intro music every time I picked up to continue watching the show.

    No doubt this anime has been such a success with the viewers and has left a memorable impact. To anime fans who enjoy crime thrillers with a supernatural twist, this is recommended, but adults who enjoy live-action shows dealing with similar topics can watch it as well because it's only the format of the show that's animated. The story is very well mature and intelligent enough to be enjoyed by someone who doesn't even watch the animation in general.
